Why can I not connect or keep getting kicked when joining your servers?
There could be a couple reasons why you cannot connect to our server. The most common reason is that users are connecting without addons which are required (only all parts of the ACE mod are) or are connecting with unapproved addons. Unapproved addons are those which have no valid bikey (signature key) uploaded on the server.Other reasons can also include having out of date addons, not having battleye or an older version of ArmA2 all together. We also recommend using Six-Updater for your addons as well.
If you are getting the "Missing addons" error you do not have the ACRE or ACRE mods (or in same cases one of the few custom islands/maps we use in our mission rotations. In any case we recommend users visit our ArmA2 Getting Started Guide to install all the needed addons. It is also important for our regular users to follow this guide and ensure they have a Six-Updater preset synced to our server. This way if we ever add additional content at a later date you will have what you need to connect and play without any extra work.
I connect to your server and keep getting kicked back to the main lobby after a couple minutes, why?
The most likely has something to do with our in-house scripts which prevents players who do not have the ACRE mod fully working from playing. Normally you should see an on screen warning. If you have ACRE then you likely have an issue of either running the addon and/or the ACRE plugin for Teamspeak is not connecting to ArmA2. You can view this by clicking on your name in TS3 and it should say "ArmA2 Connected: Yes". If you do not even see "ArmA2 Connected: No" then you need to check to ensure you are even running the ACRE plugin for Teamspeak.
I cannot get my ACRE mod working, how do I fix it?
The most common issues tends to be with individuals getting the Teamspeak 3 part of the plugin. Generally this tends to be one of four main issues. These include: 1) Not running TS3 as an administrator. To do this right click on your TS3 Icon and select "Run as Administrator".2) Users having an outdated (and sometimes newer) version of Teamspeak 3. As a common rule never update your TS3 as an ACRE users until you know it will work. We generally post this information on our site to users.3) You are launching the game via Six-Launcher and not the Updater. Using Six-Launcher currently only allows you to launch the game with the ACE Mod, not additional addons/mods like ACRE. You must user the Updater to install, update, and launch your game at the present time.4) Six-Updater not moving the .dll files from the "@ACRE/plugins" folder to the "Teamspeak 3 Client/plugins" folder. Also individuals sometimes have teamspeak installed twice and the executable they are running is for a TS3 which was not the one detected by Six-Updater. This is due to your systems registry pointing to another installation of Teamspeak. For addition help please see our ACRE Support Page and/or ACRE FAQ.
I cannot set hotkeys in Teamspeak when running the ACRE plugin.
This is a simple fix. Simply go to your Settings page in Teamspeak 3 and select "Options". Then proceed to the "Hotkeys" page by clocking on the Hotkeys Icon on the left hand side of the page. On the bottom right side of the page (just above apply and cancel) you will see a dropdown with 3 different options. Try switching these options, however "Direct Input" should be the option that works 99% of the time.
I have ACRE, what is the password for the ArmA2 channels in your Teamspeak?
The short answer is there is not really a password, at least once that is known. We have an in-house system that will only allow users into the channel if they have ACRE running properly and connect. To see if its connected once you are in the server playing click on your user in TS3 and you should see an indicator on the right hand side saying "ACRE Connected: Yes". If you do not ACRE is not connected and you should read the previous FAQ. Once connected you should be automatically moved, however there is also a manual option via your Self-Interaction key for ACE/ACRE (the same key to Treat your Wounds). The menu should say "ACRE" and to get into the properly channel select "Game / Primary". You also get auto moved from the channel if your speakers, mic, are either disabled or muted by you. Also NEVER use multiple tabs in TS3 when using ACRE or it will eventually cause you to crash. Also using multiple tabs will disable your mic in all but one TS3, thus causing our system to auto move you out of the channel.
I need help with installing and/or setting up my mods, can you help?
Most defiantly, we are constantly helping new players of various skills and experience with the ArmA series of games. The best way to get help is by connecting to our Teamspeak 3 server and speaking to one of our members or another regular user who might know how to help. Even if you have had issues with mods in the past including with the ACRE mod, we can almost guarantee we will resolve it and get you working. You can also visit the ArmA2 section on our forums for help. If you are attempting to fix a minor issue (especially if its ACRE related) you can also check out our ACRE Support Page or ACRE FAQ. Can you add new missions that I like playing?
Generally we like to keep each individual public server set to a particular mission type, or similar types of missions. This way we keep consistency. This helps since ArmA2 allows for drastically different experiences based on the missions themselves, and different people naturally like different missions. We are always look to get more servers to support different mission types, as well as the players to support them. However this requires not only the player support but also the financial support. All donations we receive are greatly appreciated and when donations exceed our current expenditures we can invest in new services. Those interested in making significant contributions should contact us and see about becoming an investor. Our key investors can become apart of our board of directors and have input on key organisation decisions.
Will I be required to join Military Gaming by playing here a lot?
No. Our public servers are open to the general public as long as they comply with our policies. While there are plenty of opportunities involved with membership in our organization, including the ArmA2 section for general membership, we do not expect all users to become members. Military Gaming operates much differently with being a legal incorporated organization and you will find that unlike many other groups we will not harass or annoy individuals to join, or spam users with constant advertisements to do so. We understand that membership is not for everyone and it itself is an exclusive opportunity.
Which signature keys do you use and how can I request an addon to be allowed?
We try to upload trusted keys for popular client side addons which will not cause issues for other players or give a player an unfair advantage. You can view our list of currently approved addons and also submit requests for us to approve the use of additional client side addons by clicking here. You can assume that the keys for the current versions of the ACE and ACRE mods are uploaded already (to include CBA & JayArmA2Lib).
Will you have addons with more content (ie vehicles, weapons, etc)?
At this time our public servers only require ACE mod and heavily support ACRE in addition to allow other client side addons. Addons which add more content (content/server addons) would require all clients to have the content. By doing something like this and requiring more addons beyond the ACE mod we would limit our player base and make it more difficult to get new players into our server. Our private server which is exclusive for members and for public event use does in fact utilize additional content. In the future we may consider having another public server which uses additional content, but only if supported by funding and player use. However our server does have a limited number of custom islands (aka maps) to which include Fallujah, Lingor, and Dingor. On occasion the server may rotate to one of these islands which will require that users have that content. However if users followed our ArmA2 Getting Started Guidefor Six-Updater and have a preset synced with our server(s) they should have any and all addons ever needed.
